From Waiter To Making 100 Million Selling Silicone Rings
Humble Beginnings
KC was a young man trying to make it in the Hollywood industry, but it was a competitive scene, so to sustain his attempt he worked at a restaurant Waiting tables. Also, it’s through that job he met his business partner, that shares the same ambitions as him. One day while they went to do some sports, they realize that a wedding band was encumbering and to make it more pleasant, they went to buy a silicone ring to replace the band. When they went to look for the silicone ring, they realize that no one sells a product like that, and so KC’s idea was born.
Solving A Small Problem
KC realize that this is a problem, and he wanted to make a business out of this. It was his first business, but if he never tried he would fail, and miss this opportunity. He had time and his partner had more money than he did. He made the painful decision of moving back with his mother, to save money on rent, and invest more money into his company.
When they found a manufacturer, to make the ring, the quality of the product turns out to be abysmal. The product looked deformed to the point where it was unwearable. Now KC and his partner is in a conundrum, when he went to the bathroom, he saw a strange pair of curved scissors and immediately got the idea, to use it to cut the excess junk off the rings to make it sellable. It was almost a miracle, to just look at a pair of unique scissors that made operations possible.
Everything Was Ready, But No Customers
KC didn’t thought about how to actually make sales, it was his first business, he didn’t thought about how to market his company. He thought it would be as simple as launching the website and start selling. That didn’t stopped him, he used his problem solving skills to try and fix this new problem. He realized that one of his friend is a famous football player known as Andy Dalton, and decided to give them a pair of free ring, in hopes of them advertising the product. His gift was well received and KC got a thanks.
Few days have past, and KC was still thinking of solutions to his marketing problem, until one day he saw an explosion of sales. It turns out that Andy Dalton was on a TV show, and the interviewer of the show asked a question about the weird object on his wedding finger. Andy Replied perfectly and indirectly created the perfect advertisement for KC and QALO.
Full Time
KC after seeing a opportunity, he made the final decision to quit his waiting job at the restaurant and took on QALO full time. His company is currently hiring 1-2 new worker every month, and he currently made over 100 million in sales. His current net worth is 30 million, and it all started because he solved a small problem.
