Dangerous Business, LLC
Lose your business but don't lose your livelihood
Not registering a LLC is risky business, if you’ve ever started a business without getting one done, you are at risk of losing your personal assets. You may think you’re safe because you have a business where you sell, for a example bottle water.
If someone decides to be malicious they can drink your bottled water and claim you try to give them water poisoning, and take you to court.
Granted, a lawsuit like this is ridiculous and the plaintiff will mostly end up shooting themselves in the foot with the lawsuit. However, there are rare cases where people can win these garbage lawsuits.
Obesity Shenanigans
A man employed in McDonalds in Brazil sued the franchise, because being employed by the fast food branch made him obese.
He won 5 figures in compensation because he can’t stop eating the free food, and the judge that issue the compensation didn’t understand thermal dynamics.
Dangerous Game
McDonalds is LLC registered, but you can imagine the dangers a small company in it’s infant stages can get pulverized by some asinine lawsuit. When the company is worth pennies, people can go after business owners for financial compensation.
We like to think the justice system is perfect, but it’s jury based and sometimes it’s dictated by emotions of the jurors. If the lawyers are good with using Ethos to manipulated judgment, they can pull a BS conclusion.
How to register a LLC
Based on your state, costs can vary. In California it cost 70 dollars and it is extremely simple. There are people making a business registering LLC for individuals, and they charge about 200 dollars for this services, and they would still ask for the same information you will need to provide when registering a LLC.
So you essentially spend $130 dollars saving 5 minutes of time. Horrible ROI.
You should just do the LLC yourself, and make sure the site ends with a DOT GOV domain. Don’t pick the first option in google search, because it usually contains a sponsored link where you will be charged a premium for a simple service.
Now when you do register a business you should build it with a site builder, I would recommend Shopify to help you get started on your business.
