Pizza Delivery Guaranteed Income
I Think It's Better Than Doordash
Food Delivery Is High In Demand
I always thought food delivery is weird, I don’t like the idea that a person without my best health interest is handling my food.
I get the idea someone is doing something funny to what I’m about to put in my mouth, but that’s just me, apparently most people don’t mind it.
Food delivery is expensive, and they increase price of items they have to offer, and people still buy it. That goes to show the power of the food industry, they can rip people off, and still make a killing.
Now, if you want a side gig that can earn you extra money, you can deliver pizza, it’s a disposable career.
Is It Really A Good Side Hustle?
It is, now it’s obviously not the highest, on average i’m hearing it surmount to $23-$31/hr. That is based on wage, and tips, which is not bad for something to do on the weekend.
Be fair with yourself, what are you going to do with your time on the weekend? Watch anime? I believe that people should analyze what they’re doing and acknowledge if what they’re doing is really worth it. That is how I was able to quit videogames and anime.
The pay is about the same as Doordash, but I would argue it’s slightly better. The culture in Doordash is that people don’t tip, because Doordash delivery is more expensive.
However in pizza there is still the culture of people tipping in cash to the driver, if you catch my drift.
Flexible
The job is relatively flexible, they won’t miss you too much if you’re absent, and it’s not a specialty job, your boss can take your role of delivery driver if you have emergency.
Even if you have a big emergency, you can just leave without a notice, kind of unethical, but you do have that option if you ever want to use it.
It’s a pizza delivery job, whose going to feel sad about leaving a delivery job. Unless if you’re at the verge of homelessness, that’s a different story.
How To Get Started
You literally just apply, demand for pizza delivery is high anywhere. No one wants to work that job, but If you happen to like driving it’s even better, you will do better than most.
Everyone talks about working for these delivery apps, when you can just go to any restaurant and do delivery for them.
Just like Doordash customers, restaurant owners also don’t like sharing their cut with the middle, so they much rather source their own delivery driver.
Bad
I heard from my friends that they occasionally get fake money, usually this is not a problem, because you can spot it out. It’s pretty normal for veteran pizza guys to inspect the dollar before pocketing it.
If it does happen you’re suppose to call the police, but honestly police aren’t going to do anything about it. Most you can do is tell your boss, and your boss will blacklist the address.
If you have a good for nothing boss, you will have to equip yourself with a dashcam, and record the incident, to prove to yourself you are not lying. Or you can not work for him and find a better boss.
Tips(not cash)
Remember the address of big tippers, that way you can save your energy for a proper greeting.
Normally your employer will lend you a car to do the delivery in, because they don’t want to deal with the paperwork involved with using someone else’s car.
They can also advertise if they use their own car, but there are rare cases where they would have employees to use their cars.
Car Usage
This is a slippery slope as I’ve heard multiple cases about this situation. I heard where it’s all smooth and paperwork is done and your boss understand the technicality of employee car usage.
I have heard of cases where it’s a honor system, and you tell your boss the mileage and they pay you X amount of money for the miles used on your personal vehicle.
I also heard of people using their own cars, this was far back when the internet barely existed. People will have dickhead bosses that will trick their employees into using their own cars without any compensation.
If you’re desperate, that can’t be helped. However, if you already have a job, and want to make extra income, and your boss tries to famoose you, you should just look for another pizza spot to deliver for.
Most Importantly
Don’t expect a tip, the mentality of people that expects a tip, usually suffers the most. They have a unrealistic expectation that people are suppose to tip.
When I was doing furniture shopping at a not so popular place in my city, I purchased a sofa, that almost cost 1 grand. When the sales rep was processing my order and I had to scan my card, the card machine was requesting a 20 percent tip, for a 1 grand sofa.
Imagine that, you go to a grocery store, and get $150 dollars of groceries, and you’re expected to pay and extra $30 to tip on top of taxes.
Workers that expects a tip and not receive one will be met with disappointment, and left with a sour experience. That form of mentality will make work miserable and longer-lasting. Again, don’t expect a tip.
Would I Do It?
Yeah, the money is relatively decent, and there are dead times in between deliveries, so you can go on your phone to do other task to make even more money.
Also, it’s pretty good exercise apparently, you’re not crarying that much weight and you’re moving around. Pizza delivery is easy, and not strenuous. Most pizza delivery people I see and know, are in relatively decent shape.
