Hosting Games At Your House

Do it for the nerds

Ever wonder how game night works? If you’ve ever joined a group and see people hosting game nights, they are making money.

It’s not expensive, if you’re an adult with a job. These game nights usually cost 10 dollars per a night, or the whole day, and you get to play your favorite game with a group of strangers that will eventually be your friend.

Normally I see D&D (Dungeon And Dragons), but in my town I mostly see Yu Gi Oh games being hosted.

I know a soccer mom in my town that owns a trading card store. She would host tournaments every damn week to milk those middle and high schoolers of their lunch money, depraving them of food. Quite sinister, but at least her kids are eating well.

I’ve seen these game nights hosted every weekend in Facebook groups, and it’s quite fascinating. Granted you risk having a bunch of strangers in your property, but people don’t care about that, as long as they get to hang out with like-minded people.

Now there is 2 known ways of doing this, if you own a trading card shop, you can easily advertise locally and host tournaments or game nights.

If you don’t want to run a store, you can host game nights in your house. This will require some marketing and community building skills, I’ve only seen it done through Facebook groups and word of mouth.

When you do host get those foldable plastic tables and those WWE folding steel chairs, they’re cheap, durable, and easy to clean. Ideal for a sweaty environment.
