Fighting Depression With Work
Mindset Monday: How To Combat Depression
Feeling bored is a lack of self respect, being boring is a form of discipline. You may have experience this in some arch of your life, but boredom is a sign that you’re not doing much with your life.
People are taught to enjoy a life of hedonism, however it can get depressing.
I remember taking a trip to San Diego for my birthday, and I plan on being a swine for a celebration, I ate my favorite meal everyday. That meal is sushi, every god awful day.
It lasted for 5 days, and when it was the 6th day, I was glad we get to have Italian.
This experience taught me that you shouldn’t do your favorite thing all the time, because it can get old.
If you’re not interested in my experience, there is a famous self-made millionaire known as Kevin O’Leary.
Kevin is known as a investor on Shark Tank where wealthy individuals make venture investments on startups.
At his mid 30s he sold his company for 4.2 billion dollars, believing he achieve financial freedom and decide to live a life of freedom.
He did his favorite thing, and that is to visit every beach in the world, and he quote, “it was really boring”. He realized work wasn’t just simply making money, it’s about being in the race and staying sharp.
This I can agree, I find the most happiest moments of my life involves me having high energy, and constantly working, kept me sharp, and capable of appreciating the simpler things in life.
This is why people are generally not lazy, happiness is tied to how much they do with their lives. To do nothing and spend their Saturdays watching Solar Opposites just don’t rub right. It may be entertaining for a short while, but it gets depressing repeating the same activity you like.
This is why I started my business, building my website with Squarespace made life significantly more enjoyable, and I implore you to do the same.
